His first unofficial loan to a woman in need was only 27 dollars! He is a living example of how one man and a little initiative can change a community. We are very very very proud of Dr. Yunus and Grameen bank.

Wish I could be in Dhaka right now to celebrate. What a great news for our country!… our heartiest congratulations to Dr. Yunus, the members and staff of Grameen Bank. Like Dipal Borua – one of Dr. Yunus’s aides said, ‘the award was an ”honor for millions of poor women who have made this possible.” Thank you Dr. Yunus, thank you the staff and members of Grameen Bank to make us so proud. Let us bask in the glory for the coming days 🙂

What a honor for our country. I am teary eyed. I am so proud of Dr. Yunus. I heard that from my sister this morning as she called me screaming in joy and pride. We talked together about our country and how good is this for us. We are absolutely proud of this great man. My best wishes and heart felt congratulation for him.
