- D.R.E.A.M. (Diabetes Research, Education, and Action for Minorities) PROJECT:
Adhunika – a coalition partner of DREAM Project provides volunteer opportunities to be part of the study. The Diabetes Research, Education, and Action for Minorities (DREAM Project) is a five-year community based participatory research study NYU School of Medicine’s Center for the Study of Asian American Health. The goal of the project is to develop, implement, and test a Community Health Worker Program designed to improve diabetes control and diabetes-related health complications in the Bangladeshi community in New York City.
Diabetes is a growing problem in the Bangladeshi and South Asian community. A survey conducted in the New York City South Asian population found that approximately 17% of South Asians suffer from diabetes, a rate much higher than that of the general population.

Adhunika Foundation (AF) collaborates with Adhunika Banagladesh Society (ABS), a non-political non-profit NGO in Bangladesh which was born out of AF that works towards promotion and protection of women’s rights and gender equality through capacity building and social mobilization. AF supports ABS with the following:

- Information Technology for Women Project
- Career Development Project
- Access to Health Education & Services Project
