Meghna Guhathakurta

1955 -

Dr. Meghna Guhathakurta is currently working as Professor in the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka. She is also Research Associate in the Centre for Social Studies (CSS), Dhaka University and Associate Editor of the center's Journal of Social Studies. Dr. Guhathakurta is a well-known human rights and gender activist in Bangladesh. Among her many publications are The Politics of British Aid Policy Formation: The Case of British Aid to Bangladesh, SAARC Beyond State Centric Cooperation (co-edited), Comparative Feminist Perspective (edited), Living on the Edge: Essays on the Chittagong Hill Tracts (co-edited), Amar Bangladesh (collection of essays in politics and social science in Bengali). She has contributed to the Human Development Report in South Asia, 2000: The Gender Question and to the Background Report on Gender Issues in Bangladesh (a report prepared for the British High Commission, Dhaka).
