APPEAL:

Adhunika is a volunteer-based organization that provides free Information Technology (IT) training to underprivileged women of all ages and all economic backgrounds in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Adhunika is determined to provide computer knowledge to women who cannot afford to acquire IT training. Providing women with basic computer knowledge opens new opportunities for them. Not only would it be a means of economic empowerment and allow the women to join the work force better equipped but it would also better enable them to participate in the decisions that affect their livelihoods and their communities.

Potentially the Internet may be the most powerful tool for accessing and communicating information. Adhunika strongly encourages the women of Bangladesh to participate on the Internet. It provides a virtual platform by posting women’s personal stories, highlighting female role models, creating awareness of women’s issues and connecting them/ obtaining information about other organizations that work towards women’s advancement. It strongly believes that as women learn and share their knowledge – women evolve and shape their future.
